The Brookings Institution hosted a panel discussion on early education, focusing on pre-school and the Head Start program.

The Brookings Institution hosted a panel discussion on early education, focusing on pre-school and the Head Start program. The event centered around an article written by Dr. Steven Barnett, titled “Effectiveness of Early Educational Intervention,” published in the journal Science.  In a summary of the article, Dr. Barnett wrote about the importance of early childhood education, but said “two major U.S. programs perform relatively poorly.”

Dr. Barnett gave the keynote address. The event also included a discussion with the head of the national Head Start Association and other education experts. Annual Election Information

Our Annual Meeting and Elections are scheduled to take place at our Fall Workshop on

Thursday, September 22nd, at Middlesex County College.

Elections will be held prior to the workshop — 6:45 – 7:00 PM.

The Kenyon Executive Board would like to reach out to all members to consider running for our open positions. We ask that you pass this information on to other members. These positions are: Secretary; and Treasurer.

The Nominating Committee members are: Harriet Worobey, Chair; Donna Lambdin, and Leanne Adase.
